Jane trained as a Clinical Psychologist and has worked in services for older people in the NHS and in Social Care, latterly being Associate Director of Psychological Services in the NHS until 2019. For many years she also led and published research from Oxford and Exeter Universities aimed at improving person-centred dementia care in care homes, developing effective training and support for staff and in supporting family carers. She is passionate about considering personal, psychological and spiritual needs in care settings and how we respond and adjust to changing circumstances.
Fran is a Registered Nurse currently working for Dementia Oxfordshire. She has worked in different areas in acute and mental health hospitals and as an Admiral nurse supporting colleagues in care homes in the Order of St John’s Care Trust. She has been involved in research supporting people living with dementia in care homes and is currently undertaking her Professional Doctorate studies in Advanced Healthcare Practice at Cardiff University. Her study explores the experiences of family members and people that are important to people living with young onset dementia, during a transition from hospital to a care home.
